You did not hear these comments  from anyone who has a clue of what is showing and winning in the conformation rings.

Do a search on "banana" or "roach". You'll find lots of examples.

While I am still very novice concerning German dogs, I did attend the Sieger show in Aachen, spent extra days visiting German breeders and looking at dogs. I have also been to several major shows in the U.S. and I have yet to see a "banana backed" dog, much less one that places high in any class.

Get out to some conformation shows (under SV judges) and see for yourself what is winning. I am talking strictly anatomy. Character is a whole other issue, and I will leave those assessments to others more qualified.

Hope this helps,

Rik

Rik is correct. Get out to some shows under SV judges.

I think she was giving a complement.....
She's an judge who works herding groups at AKC shows. From her comments I can only guess that she's not impressed with the GSD's she's has to judge lately.

She's helping me to gait and prepare my puppy for conformation class. Here near Houston, there are VERY, VERY few SV conformation shows and after looking for weeks no judges or trainers to be found.

Sounds like an opinionated judge.
I wonder how things would go with a panel of judges instead of just one.

It probably was a compliment.

Anteater face, that's not one I've heard before.  Is that a snipy dog with a roman nose?

Here's my handsome boy Theo, I just took this at the beach this morning, he was swimming in the ocean,
it was pretty chilly in this neck of the woods, he was hanging with his yellow lab friend "Big head Harold"

I think he's perfect & everyone that meets him thinks he's a beauty, I guess I'm just predjudice
Big Head's not to bad looking eitherCan banana backed GSD's do this?

We saw this guy there too.....
SitasMom, post a pic of your pup, I'm going to some akc shows
with Theo for obedience, and I entered him for conformation, cause we'll be there anyway

My homework was to practice every day AND to attend the AKC multi breed show this weekend - Wonder if any banana backed & anteater faced GSd's will be there? I'll have to snap a few photos.....
