So I'm getting ready for a new addition. I have been studying schutzhund and have been apart of a club for the past year. This new addition is for sport. We do have a male GSD however he is too laid back for the sport and I wanted to make sure I do it right.
My addition is a girl. I'm very excited...
My main question is how do you get ready for your first addition for sport? I want to make sure she has the best start... I am asking club members the same questions but I'm just trying to make sure I have everything down that I can possibly provide for her for the best outcome. Also what all do you test for when you get a puppy of this calibur. By the time they come to club everything is already done. I've never really thought to ask until now.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated,

I'm more thrilled...
And thank you. It's the first time I've ever gone through this process, my other dogs in the past have been rescues. Its amazing to see a full year in the making! Hopefully I can use what I've learned this past year... :) I just pray I do this right. lol.
Thanks

GSD's bred for the sport are typically pretty resilient. Like raising children, we are allowed a few mistakes without ruining the end result. Relax, enjoy your puppy and your training experience with the help of your club, and the learning you will appreciate for years in future!

The bonding between you and your dog is what makes it so special. When you work a dog in any activity, the bond is a special one. Wishing you alot of fun tears ahead.
