How odd RS, it was on TV only yesterday... film & documentary.  Rekindles ones faith in humanity!

What an incredible thing, and very touching.  Here is an article with a lot of background and an interview with the 2 lion "tamers" from last year:  http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/25797678/

Yes it does missbeeb, and in lions!      I get choked up everytime I watch it.

Thanks for the article Sue, interesting how they only used tone of voice for corrections.  It obviously worked, as that lion has nothing but love and respect for them.
Very cool.

I thought I saw on t.v. some where that they wrote a book all about Christian. I get goose bumpers every time I see that video. It goes to show you all you need is love and compassion for animals in order to receive it.

Stick to what you know the german shepherds,

this was a fictional movie shot in texas, all of the animals were trained, that old guy with no shirt on is actually one of the most famous lion tamers in the business

you have all been fooled

I may not know german shepherds, but i do know lions,  I work for GW exotic park, its a lion and tiger rescue center for bears lions and tigers,

A lion would not be able to be released like that in the wild, especially in Africa, and at his age and size and mane, would not have been the head honcho, he would have not intruduced his "wife", nor would the she excepted the humans.
Oh yeah, this is a GSD forum. Keep the Chevy's out!

I heard them mention this on the radio this morning, and I believe it is FACT.

FWIW my brother rehabilitates bears.  He has bears that behave the same way as this lion, and then there are others that can't be trusted.

A couple of years ago he travelled to Kamchaka, Russia, to observe the Alaskan Brown Bear, with Charlie Russel.  These bears had never seen humans before, had no bad experiences with them, and showed NO FEAR.  They came right up to the camp, were filmed with no problem, and showed no aggression.

They made a movie about the true story, if I am correct.

Anyway, I also want to mention, while my brother was in Russia, mom and I cared for the bears.  Mike had been feeding a wild mother with two cubs, so one night, while we were out feeding the babies, they showed up, scared the crap out of us, and we scared the crap out of her.  She hung around, but from a distance the whole week.  Anyway, when my brother got home, we were amazed, as she was soo happy to see him.  She came right up to the house, and called her babies out of the tree for him to see.  She NEVER did that with us.  It was an amazing thing to see.

The movie is based on a true story.  Obviously the movie was embellished, movies always are.   This does not diminish one iota the facts of the amazing story of Christian in London having been rescued by a couple of kids basically, and George Adamsons work with Christian in Africa.
