My wee new girl has had one ear up/down/up/down... and now it seems to want to stay down.  I've taped it with sponges inside - I've tried gluing (bad idea - she still has black ears from it).

The other dogs play with her and the taping or gluing inevitably comes apart.  The ear stays up for a day or two, then flops again.

Any suggestions?

How old is she ?

She is probably like my puppy who is 19 weeks old , she had left up / right down - then right up / left down but in the last week her molars have come down and lower canines fell out yesterday as well as a premolar. I have been giving her a raw beef rib bone each day, so hopefully they will both be up together soon.

Hoping it won't be long for both of our puppies have ears up.

Is the cartilege "broken"?

Usually if they have been up they will come back. How long has it been down for.

You can buy ear supports in the USA. from  http://dogsportgear.com/dog-grooming.htm

Nice dogs by the way. It looks very cold where you are.

Soft ears can be genetic also?   The ear does not look good for the size of the pup?  Did you use skin bonding glue to put the Restone in the ear.?  It is human products you need to mostly order at a pharmacy, Restone is a thick dense foam and skin bonding glue used to come in a metal can with a dipper in it.  It worked for one of mine that came from Germany it got dented in the crate at 5.5 months old, it came up in a week of doing this treatment.

Nope, the cartilege is not broken - I don't think so anyway because it does stay up for a day or two.  I did use skin glue (actually eyelash glue of all things!) but the other dogs wreak havoc on it and it only works for a few days.  When it comes apart, it stays up for a day or two and then flops again.  I guess I can keep trying, but the poor thing is losing the hair on her ears from the dogs pulling on the glue.

I thought it might be genetic, but none of the other dogs or her ancestors had weak ears.  Maybe the other dogs have done something to it?

She looks aweful now because the glue has turned black and her ears look gawd aweful....

Breathright strips also work well to support ears. I used them when a pup was having the old up & down during teething. They work well, are relatively cheap, can be positioned exactly where the support is needed and already have the adhesive on them.
