I have used Tri Tronics for years but the last 2 have had real battery problems. I don't use them all that often maybe thats the problem. The last one I sent to collar clinic to get repaired, I have used it 4 times and now it doesnt charge. I was thinking Dogtra any Ideas. Thanks

I don't know what is the "best" e-collar as I only have experience with a Dogtra because that is what my training instructor uses, but if you're just wanting feedback about how a Dogtra holds a charge, I can provide my experience. I have the Dogtra 280ncp and it holds a charge for longer than I thought it would. I used to use it frequently (daily) and would only need to charge it every couple weeks. Now I only use it occasionally so it is off most of the time and it keeps it's charge between the occasional uses. Overall I've been happy with the Dogtra, but I don't know if there is something better out there. I hope this is a little helpful. I'm sure there are others who have a lot more experience who can provide more useful info.

i started out with a tri-tronics pro 100, used it for many years. when it came time to get a new one i went with a Dogtra 2300ncp. couldnt be happier. control is easy to use. i agree with ck about the charge also. i dont think i charge mine more than once a week and it gets used several times a week.

I've had nothing but good luck with tritronics, but I've used a few very nice dogtra lately as well.

I have used a number of e-collars...including the Tri-Tronics...and I have now been using the Dogtra for the last number of years...I like the Dogtra much better and does exactly what I need...
