I have a dog (9 years old) and I noticed she has a yellowish puss at the buttom of her eye lid. I looks a lot like morning sleep before it dries) Can someone tell me what may be the cause before I go to the vet.

Look for something in the eye, or an injury to the eye.
Thats kind of obvious.
Beyond that See the vet.

Is it just the one eye, or both?

Has she any other symptoms?

It is discharge that could be related to infection or even allergy. If it is new and not observed in the past, the likelihood is that she has a minor eye infection. See the vet and get a proper diagnosis and the right medication so you don't compromise her ability to see.

It's on both eyes, it's not an eye injure, the consciences to this group its allergy related. Some days are better than others.

Is it possible a ingrown eye lash could be the problem, not sure if GS have this problem.

See a VET. Don't guess and no, the consensus, if that is what you were trying to write, is not that it is allergy related. Colored discharge from the eyes or nose or ears means infection. There may be an allergy as well, but there is probably an infection. There are lots of reasons the dog could have a discharge, including an ingrown eyelash.

A vet can tell you if there is an infection, a scratch of the lenses from a sand storm, conjunctivitis ("pink eye" and yes, dogs get it too!), or something totally different. Ingrown eyelashes in both eyes seems a bit of a stretch to me. The vet can also prescribe the correct medication. I think the "concensus" of the group is to visit a vet with your dog. Good luck to you and the dog.
