Does anyone else have dogs that do weird stretches? Mine likes to completely flatten her back end, legs straight out behind her, feet pads up, knuckles dragging (looks like a ballerina going en pointe, especially with her fluffy beige butt looking like a tutu). She does this for a few seconds when I let her out of the crate in the morning, followed by a few big yawns. Every other dog I've seen has either done the cat stretch (forelegs straight out, butt in the air), or a moderate back stretch. I think it looks hilarious when she does this. One of her many cute "quirks"

one of mine likes to put her paws on your knee and stretch ...
my old boy has a stretching routine first the yawn with a high pitched whine at the end,
then he will do the butt in the air stretch
and his grand finale..... pass wind
at this point its a good idea to vacate the room....lol

My female does the same type of stretching you described.
1st the front stretch, front down with the butt up in the air. Then back legs extended back and dragging. She probably does the whole thing at least 5 times.

In yoga, what you describe is called Upward Dog, and what you describe as a cat stretch, is called Puppy Dog Stretch.

Yup, my boy does the same thing all the time. He kinda starts out at the front end, and then works his way back until his back feet turn over a drag a couple inches. LOL! He actually just did it in the hallway while I was typing, seriously!

LOL beetree :D Do they sell doggie yoga mats at PetSmart? hehe I looked it up and yes, that is exactly what she does.
Mine does the whine at the end of the yawn too, then shakes her whole body as if to wake herself up. She is a funny puppy
