What schedule do you use for pup vacs, what shots at what times, seperate shots or multi? I would like to know who does what and why? I haven't had to think about it in awhile and things change. Please no links to vet jargon no one understands, simple english.

I do Progrard Puppy distemper and parvo only at 7-7.5 weeks of age. I basically follow Dr Jean Dodds recommendation for vaccinations but a little earlier as I want the puppies fully protected before they go off to the new homes.

I vacciate at 6 weeks,8 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 months and 1 year. WHY???Because I don't want my dogs to die from parvo!!!!!!!!!!

DKiah!
I am with you 100%,
I do not do Corona anymore, cause I believe that's something to be drunk with a lime.
and lepto-- there are about 125 diferent strains of it, but the shot only covers about 5 difierent strains,DUH!
DUH! DUH!
I'm sick of vets ripping us off!!!!!!!!!
Just ask for the basic shots,
Parvo-distemper & Adeno

Someone gave me this link and I LOVE it, short, simple and to the point. I can't stand reading through pages of garbled vet jargun, when it's really just this fing simple to say! I also want to do as little vaccinating as possible, since I do it at home, this is great. 2 shots.

At the vet clinic I work for, we recommend vaccinations at 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks (some breeders will do 6 weeks, then we will do 10 week and 12 weeks) for DAP. After that, the dog comes back in one year for another shot, and then they are good for 3 years. At 16 weeks, we do the Rabies vaccination. One year later the vaccination is repeated and then is good for 3 years. Lepto, Lyme, Giardia and bordetella are all non-core vaccinations and only recommended if your lifestyle warrants it. IE, we dont like to over vaccinate.

Why the booster at a year and then every 3 for Parvo and Dist? How many dogs really suffer from that after a year of age? Only dogs I know who have are recent and the new strain of Parvo.
