Best thing to do is when you are ready to Survey your dog Phone Sheila Rankin and she will be able to tell you if there is any coming up, You have just missed one at West Yorks at the weekend.
There is one next weekend in Wales

It would be useful to have a dedicated page on the Breed Council website LISTING Breed Surveys.as soon as they are arranged. I understand there is now a minimum 6 weeks advance notice required for each breed survey.

Breed Council Survey Dates and Surveyors. as from tomorrow 26th March we should have dates for the Surveys due to be held as soon as they are applied for . All applications to hold a Survey should be made to Sheila Rankin Breed Council Secretary. I have given the link below to check the current dates and a list of Surveyors. This is now on the Breed Council Web Site listed under "Breed Council Survey Dates and Surveyors" The only way we can keep this information up to date and current is for all the Breed Clubs who are thinking of holding a Survey to contact Sheila as soon as possible at least 8 weeks prior to the Survey taking place. It is now becoming evident that more people are requesting Surveys, and bearing in mind the Health checks which are associated with them, strengthens our case to the UK Kennel Club at the next Partnership Meeting. So far we have 16,000 dogs on the Breed Council Data Base and well over 800 Surveys, in the past couple of years the Surveys have really started to increase. The reason for 16,000 dogs recorded is because the Data Base once produced pedigrees something that could still be continued in the future if they were required. The GSD of Wales Open show due to be held on the 29th of March was well over subscribed with applications for surveys and some had to be refused so please make sure when you see a date advertised you contact the relevant club secretary as early as possible.

Thank you all for your responses. So do you book in as you would for a breed show, sorry to ask but I have never surveyed a dog before. What documents need to go with the dog?

Hi Ann
If you go onto the Breed Council Website and click on Surveys you will be able to Download all the necessary Survey forms which inform you what checks you have to have done and what documentation you will need to take with you on the day to the Survey.
As for entering the Survey, the cost is usually around £20 (£15 to the BC and £5 to the Club towards Surveyors expenses etc) . It is ALWAYS ADVISABLE to contact the Club holding the Survey to Book your place as there is a limit to how many Surveys a Surveyor can get through in a day.
Some clubs, as at West Yks this weekend, often try to cater for those who turn up on the day by asking some other surveyors (who we knew were attending our show anyway as exhibitors), If they would be willing to take some Surveys should we we be inundated with additional entrants on the day. As it happened good organising managed to keep the entrants flowing through the survey tent at a nice steady pace without too many long timely gaps between, which enabled Terry to comfortably manage to survey all entrants (in the end 15 in total I believe).
Regards
Sue
