I have a question and want to ask the experts

Do your dogs do very well with other dogs in a social element?  Do you see a lot of posturing?  I really want to get my dog into the sport but she can sometimes be anti-social.  She stops on command and I usually get the correction in before she can let out a bark.  I work with her all the time but I also know that dogs will still be dogs and I don't want to start if she isn't ready.  This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to look before I leap.

I have seen some insane, dog aggressive dogs on the field.  all it comes down to is control on the handlers part

Dog agression is not allowed in Schutzhund.  Unfortunately, my dogs are dog agressive with other dogs and very dominant.  I do not tolerate any dog agression especially on the training field.  I can bring my dogs on the field off leash, report in and do my obedience with other dogs on the field.  The long down is also no problem.  It is all training.  My dogs would much rather do obedience with me than even look at another dog.  This is not avoidance either; it is focus and drive.   I don't let these dogs socialize with other dogs as they are adults and dog aggressive.  They wouldn't play nice on their own.  I have no need to let them loose with other peoples dogs so it is not an issue for me, they get along with each other and can play with each other.

Depends on the other dogs' genders. the only reason they don't go after other same-gender dogs is because they know what I would do if they did. Its called T-R-A-I-N-I-N-G.

Ali would go after anything... dirty sow.

the training field is not a dog park.  I don't want my dog "socializing" on the training field - I don't care if he is social with other dogs while on the training field - I do expect that with proper training, my dog will be neutral around other dogs - that is ignore them, not be reactive to them - and I expect other handlers to have control of their own dogs so my dog is not put into a position to defend  himself against another dog on the training field.  Dogs should be able to work off leash, long down etc on the field with other dogs around, and not have to "meet them" at all, or have any problem.  Control and obedience is the key if a dog is dog aggressive by nature..

Molly is exactly right.

I agree totally Molly.  In any venue that you train it is not a dog park!!  I have trained my dogs to work off lesh around other dogs and distractions while ignoring them and remaining neutral even in close quarters.  I do not allow my dogs to socialize with any dogs during traing. I do not take my dogs to dog parks either!
