looking for suggestions as far as a new kennel name.  right now i go with Ro-Jon because my name is Rhonda and husband is John.  I thought maybe my last name Moyer and maybe something like Moyerhaus.  looking for more german then what i have.  any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Nothing wrong with Ro-Jon if it's what you like. No every GSD kennel has to sound German.

I was told I should go with something more german.  right now I have a male placed and will be doing schutzhund as he gets older and not sure what judges will think. A very good friend of mine who is trying to help get our name out there suggested a german name so it will be noticed as german lines.  i do have 1 american male but he is almost 10. all my other dogs are german.  thank you.

Ryanhaus

I like "Moyerhaus",
it sounds pretty original. and proud

I was using the name Von Ryan after the movie with Frank Sinatra that came out in 1965, it was about an American POW
that helped British prisoner's escape in Germany WWII, it's a great movie, I try to watch it everytime it comes on.

Anyway, when I asked the AKC if I could use Von Ryan as my kennel name, they said Von Ryan was pretty common,
so I had to tweak it, so that's where Ryanhaus came from, also I have a son named Ryan, so it works for me in a couple
of ways!

There are many, many successful, well known dogs without german sounding names.  The stunning BSZS VA Repitition Amanda comes to mind immediately, but there are plenty more. You use what you want to, and let your dogs speak for themselves. There are also MANY MANY crappy american backyard breeders  who give their dogs german sounding names so they appear to be from german lines.  No one experienced in the breed will judge a dog sight unseen on only their name.

I agree, if you have dogs out there as Ro-Jon, keep it to continue to create the reputation.  What if one of those Ro-Jon pups really makes it, then you have to explain the name change.

I Have decided to keep Ro-Jon but it will now be Ro-Jon/Von Moyer Haus so I can continue the establishment as well as adding new to our dogs. Thank you for all the comments as I do appreciate all of them.

Shelley thinks those hyphenated-given-and/or surname American kennel names sound stupid. I like Moyerhaus. Easy to spell, too.
JMHO  So beat me for it.
