We just got back from a UKC show weekend. Normally I do not post this BUT I am very excited and proud of my dog Ozzy (czech female) . We took reserve Friday show due to my handling errors (Judge was nice enough to tell me to slow down so they can see her gait! :) Saturday we went for morning show (I took the Judges advise from Friday) So I ran in the senior class by my self and naturally won :) (Judge told to speed it up this time! ) so now it come to Best of Females. There is a German style female that is nicely structure (I start thinking no way) and WE TOOK IT!!!! Judge said that it was close but Ozzy had a better gait !!!. So now it is up for the Best of Winners - a American line show young male. We go around and the judge says Female takes it (THATS US !!!!!!) no duckin way. So now here comes a Champion Male (Germa import black and red - I am not holding my breath on this ) it is us agaisnt him. AND WE TAKE IT !!!!! So now on to Herding group well, we came in 4th of 7 groups so I am tickled to death and we earned our 2 nd major towards our Championship!!!!!

I talked to the judge and he said and I quote " Thank you for bring in a shepherd that has a nice rear end ! He said that she has very nice structure and movement but I have to get better at handling her.

WOW, EK-CONGRATULATIONS!!---We just did a UKC show this week-end, too,in Cincinnati! We took a home-bred boy, Pyro, and our import Aragon. Both are West German Show line blk/reds. We entered 2 shows on the one day(Sat,Mar 21).

Here's what we got (Aragon was handled by our 12yr old daughter Allison, Pyro was handled by our 13yr old son Brandon):

Allison & Aragon got 2 2nd places in Jr Showmanship, 2 1st Places in Young Male Class, and 2 Reserve Best Male placements!

Brandon and Pyro got 2- 1st places in Jr Showmanship, 2- 1st Places in Breeder/Handler Class, 2 Best Male Placements, and then 2 Best of Breed Wins. He took 5th place in Best of Herding Group, but there was no ribbon/placements for that.

We, too, were told to slow the dogs down (used to thinking about German shows!) so their conformation could be seen better. Most important thing was, the kids got more ring experience and had such a positive experience with our two showline boys-we don't have any local dog training clubs or anything to practice at, so that makes how our kids did to us even more important. Our action pics, too, blurred, but I took some 'still' shots.

that is fabulous. hopefully, the day is coming when handlers and judges will learn to view with open minds.

Thanks Kat and Congrats to you and your children!!! That is great that they like to show. My older daughter Championed out my male for me ( I still do not live that down LOL ) BUt hey it makes them feel much better!. and she loves the time with me (I love the time with her)
