What critera do use use to consider a puppy sold as "limited' registration?

I don't have any particular "criteria", all my pups are sold on a limited registration.  :)

there are alot of reasons for this ,some good some not some only will sell at full registration if the dog is to be tilted , most will only release the registration after 2 year hip and elbow and tilted ,others wont if sold locally as they dont want their blood lines used for back yard breeding in the same area as they are selling quality dogs. If a owner is not going to do the work and expenses then the dog doesnt need to have full  resignation and should not be breed .These dogs are handful at best and working lines, if you dont know what your doing can be a problem and then  end up at the pound. So for the most part they are trying to keep control of there hard earned tiltes and bloodlines.

Princess is right on the money

Also, your name is on the pedigree, if they screw up, it comes back at you

I would never buy a pup on a limited reg.

Sounds like a scam to me...
I'm with you atc.
Limited registration is nothing more than an attempt to control breeding, for whatever reason.

My argument on this is

I personally don't want every tom, dick and harry having full breeding rights to my dogs lines.

You can only be so careful in screening potential buyers... as genuine as people seem there are crooks out there waiting.

It eliminates the people looking for a deal and those out to breed without health tests.

Those actually interested in breeding, will work to meet the criteria needed for me to lift the limited off for them.

If they don't care for the limited registration, they can shop elsewhere.  I have a list of buyers waiting.
I have NEVER had a problem selling my pups on a limited registration.

I bought my last female with limited regs, till she is ofa.d and a preformance titled, I have no problem with this it,s not like I wasnt told up front what the criteria of sale was. Yes there protection name and blood line and I will probably do the same on my next litter i think it.s called trust and the reputation you have with your breeder you are purchasing from... It,s a good idea in my mind.

Our puppies are always limited reg until hips clear and at least a CGC.  Shows us that the people are willing to put some time into their dog.    I think we've only given full registration right off the bat maybe twice. That was to friends we knew would work them.

This is stupisdness and i will never buy a dog this way.and as i have said before not every want to breed and people who want to breed they will still breed. Also these so baleed breeders who want protect blood lines in majority of the cases these are not their lines to protect so this is a bullshit reason.most of the so called breeders in the state i come across they all buy their breeding stock from somewhere else.and you do not develope blood lines by just buying two dogs from somewhere and breeding them couple of times.what breeders in the state have developed their own blood lines. have a nice one.
