I recently had to change dog foods, and a friend of mine referred me to this website, which has reviews of most of the North American brands. Here is what they say about Diamond Extreme Athelete:

Diamond foods produces many of the popular North American brands. It was heavily implicated for using meat meal from China, containing melamine, which caused the deaths of many dogs. I'd be suspicious of any food marketed under the Diamond name brand.

I have a friend that fed this and everyone of her dogs had vomiting and runny stools!  This food is too high in protein and fat for MOST dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used this for several months after  needing and emergency bag of food (my shipment of Solid Gold did not arrive), and this was the best I could find on the shelves locally.  I had two adult dogs on this and they liked the first bag and did well on it, since it was about $20/bag cheaper I decided to keep them on it.  The fourth bag was different.  It smelled fifferent, looked different, was greasy, and my picky eater would not touch it.  She turned her nose up at it, even if I added tripe and pumpkin to the bowl.  The second dog, usually voracious, was grudgingly eating it.  I contacted TSC where it came from, and they reported no issues or recalls, and noted that Diamond meat source may have changed or the fillers may be different in this batch..  I got my money back for the bag.  Needless to say, I went back to Solid Gold, and will just order an extra bag online.  I have always been happy with the results of Solid Gold - good coats, good color and correct poops.  Guess that is what I get for trying to go cheap.

YOU RICH FOLK CRACK ME UP. IF I COULD AFFORD THIS EXTREME ATHLETE FOR DINKIE HE WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST CANINE ON EARTH. DINKIE WOULD SCARF IT UP LIKE A HOOVER AND HE WOULD POOP SOLID NUGGETS.

i have sworn off all diamond products.  we have tried most of them at different times over the years.  most recently we used the extreme athlete and before that the TOTW.  as joyce indicated, diamond seems to have a real problem with consistency.  things will go along fine for a while, the dogs may even look good.......for a while, but every time i think i have found the answer and plan to stick with something for a while, everything goes awry.  diarrhea, yukky coats, vomiting, hot spots, itching, yeast infection or something else.  we have used some of the most expensive products on the market and had the same results.  i hate to admit this, but out of desperation, i bought several bags of iams premium protection (white bag trimmed with green) and we are giving that a try.  yes, it has corn in it.....which i hate the thought of.  all stools have improved dramatically.  skins problems are disappearing and coats are really beginning to shape up.  i am not hopeful that any of this will last, because it never does.  a few months and i will probably be back to reading labels again and hunting up another brand.  if it does continue to work, i will post results and let everyone know.  i still can't believe i'm feeding iams.  i have never had anything good to say for them.  this particular formula does not contain menadione.

I feed Vet's Choice and Orijen 6 fish mix 50/50, I gave myf emale only Vetschoice for first 6 months and to be honest I see no different, good energy, good coat, good stool so if you want to save some $ Vetschoice is worth it, very good feed for any dog.
