Want to build the perfect dog grooming bathing area that I can.
It’s a big space….with lots of plumbing
Any suggestions on where I can find ideas?
I will have Mark build it out but want to make it as nice as possible…
Dont want to be on my knees with dogs in our bathtub lol
Looking for some creative ideas besides sending them out.
Our one pup does the water and hose attack and it freaks out the groomers!
Go figure! Just a little drive!
Thanks
Carolyn and our dirty dogs!

A sturdy leash hook.
Temperature control for the water.
A very good pee trap and screen.
Space to lay out all your grooming tools and a good electrical outlet within reach for a blowdryer.

I have a heavy duty hose nozzle with a trigger.. got it from Pet Edge.. ran around $125
The walls are tiled with the gorilla board behind them..its the waterproof sheetrock..
I have 2 eye hooks in the back wall so I can turn and leash the dogs who don't want to stay in the tub...
One end of the tub ..plumbing end is against the wall (obviously) and on the other end we built a short wall which I have been asking for an additon on... to bring it up higher so water doesn't spray when I rinse in that direction
My friend had enough room in her setup to add a knee high bench to just use for brushouts, etc ....
The best investment we made on this house.. saves my knees.. although after a day of grooming my abs are pretty sore..
Good luck

Great input and I never thought about the Gorilla Board behind the sheetrock which of course will be tiled and I have to get the exact height saw this really cool bath set up someone had off their mud room too! And good idea YR about Biglots gotta save where I can gonna see what kinda cool tiles I can get and the exact height will be key so I dont have to bend too much....I turn into the tin man pretty fast!
Will send some pics we are a month or two out...the is #2 on the project list :)
Wish us luck!

You can get GFCI's at lowes for about 14 bucks that plug into the socket or you can have them wired directly into the box. I prefer the plug in, it trips faster if there is an accident.
Good Luck :)

This is a walk-in basin made for people in wheelchairs. Same size as a standard shower surround over a tub without the tub. It tilts toward the drain in the center. It has a regular overhead shower for humans, handheld, and a bypass switch for another handheld shower fixture which is on a height-adjustable rod.
There are two handicapped bars to satisfy the building codes but at such a level that I can attach short leads with snap hooks which are then attached to the dog's collar.
The drain has an extra coarse strainer to catch the dog hair.
The sheet rock is waterproof. To protect the walls (I can't afford to tile them) I hung a curtain rod at 7' and suspended a clear plastic shower curtain from it. When a dog is being bathed I pull the shower curtain across the wall; when not in use it's tied back.
I also have a stool in there for me to sit on when showering a dog, indispensable! No bending over, no kneeling on a hard floor. Lighting is ceiling-recessed 2 halogen lamps so I can inspect for ticks and also use the area for medical treatments.
