I am trying to cut down on the amount of chemical goop I have to use on my dogs this year and I can already tell that fleas are going to major (again). Anyone have experience/luck with Diatomaceous Earth or the nematodes?

I use the DE but on their food, I've never used it for anything else. I also use nematodes and they are AWESOME!!! I haven't bought any for 2 years and they were still doing their job. I had ticks up the wing wang (5 acres in the middle of woods in Michigan) until I got the nematodes. I didn't have to use anything on my dog's after I got the nematodes. I'm going to order more next week. I highly recommend the nematodes!!!

I love DE! When I had my chickens it was the greatest thing ever for the mites and lice as well as fleas, used it for the rabbits and dogs also. I would make a little hollow in the ground for the chickens and mix the DE with the dirt and they loved bathing in it. You can also put some in a shaker bottle and shake it on the dogs making sure to ruffle the hair so that it settles to the skin. B very careful not to get it in the eyes or inhale it, it can be an irratant for people as well as pets. "DeFlea" shampoo is a great product for temporary nonchemical flea relief.
