The new issue arrived yesterday and it'sgot a lot of good stuff and great news.

1) USA is discussing with SV to have all USA Judges Sv certified and recognized and USA President was well received with SV President when the idea was brought up. They will have (sometime int he near future) SV Head Judge give the seminar here so they can all be USA/SV judges. That can be nothing but good and positive.

2)Fromthe National Breed Warden:A comitee has been estabslished to explore the possibility of USA and WDA join forces, so only one scorebook will be needed, one set of rules, more clubs etc... If that happens, it would be very nice.

3) Nate, I believe who posts here sometimes, has a very nice and balanced article on table training doing it his way and I enjoyed reading it.

4) Yvette, who also posts here, I believe wrote a Schutzhund/GSD shrtword lexicon for the newbies with correct and good explanations.

5) USAGSD Nationals from November was covered in depth in this issue. Front page is Chuck and his owner Dan. I have met both of them at the Nationals, nice kid and a very nice dog. Ihope they make the WUSV team and do good competing for USA.

6) Claudia Rmardalways has very nice and reveant articles that I enjoy reading. This time she explored "Is yoru dog a kennelor a house dog" and interviewed a lot of world, regional and national competitors.

and a whole lot more... inside.

Oh, only by looking at the adinside the front cover page I realized that the legendary Mambo Z Pohranicni Straze is now in US of A and belonging to Sapphire Shepherds in Montana! Good news, I love that dog. Wirh ZidaneHaus Sevens in Alabama, Kway Vom Posthorn and other great dogs also in the US, I am glad we have a slew of them here.

Ans so on and so on. Good issue! If anyone who is reading this is not USA member, I'dsuggest to join and you get the magazine delivered to your home - it's worth it!

I enjoyed this issue as well.
Nate's article was a refreshing read, and Claudia's article is a nice resource for new club members.

Adi,
I agree USA Magazine is great  this month!
They have some nice articles as you mentioned and a great picture of 4 of my friends on page 75.

Johannes' info about the judges is a little behind. The USA judges did have a meeting with the head SV judge in Las Vegas the weekend of Feb.28th, 2009. They went over some things and were tested, but, according to an e-mail from Mark P, the head USA judge, nothing had been conferred upon the USA judges as of yet.
If you look at Tim Burke's report he says that the USA judge's scores now count for everything and are recognized by the SV.
I am contacting Mark again to find out what the status is.

As for the WDA and USA, it is true that they have been, and are, seeking an alliance of some sort. As it has been told to me, the WDA and the GSDCA have more or less split, but, nothing is official.
The WDA was quite upset when the GSDCA  told them that they would be reduced to a committee if the AKC Working Dog Sport was approved full time. It is supposed to be voted on this spring.
The info is pretty well spelled out on the WDA web site if you go in to past meeting minutes.
I find it kind of funny that I explained this to people from the local WDA club that I used to belong to when the WDS came about three years ago. In my opinion, it is, and has always been, a ploy by the GSDCA to try to take back control of the GSD in this country.

How can it be positive to put an American club under a German one?

Christopher, It is not putting a US club under German(y). It is to affect the status of the USA judges. I have heard such varying scenarios that I am not going to repeat any of them. :-) The meeting with Gunther Diegel has already taken place lasy month, as stated. The magazine is excellent! Claudia is a particular blessing for USA to have. :-) Yvette aka SchBabe is also one of our treasures. Kudos and props on a job well-done. :-)
