Why, oh why, is there not a videographer for the USA Sieger Show?

More specifically, why has not USA contracted for the services of Crystal Video? I have the excellent videos taken by Crystal in 2005 in Carson City.

I hope they do NOT get an official videographer because that might mean that individuals will get banned from shooting their own personal video. I would rather see the full length, unedited video of an amateur on YouTube, for free.

 AFAIK,

Only one hosting club has ever prohibited videotaping at any USA national event.   That ended disastrously, as the "official" videographer didn't have a clue, people complained that they never, ever received the CD they ordered and paid for.  Oh, yeah, and the prohibition meant that there was no film, so  those who KNEW FOR AN ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY  that one competitor used one dog for OB and another for protection could not even raise the issue officially, because they had been prohibited from obtaining the proof.

I am with you:  I'd rather see it all on Youtube for free.  Although, one year the official videographer for the Canadian Sieger Show did put all that bitework up on-line for free, too.

I believe the official video persons that Mystere is referring to was Crystal Video....

Ms Penery;

 Why don’t YOU sponsor the official videographer?  I am sure the USA Sieger Show staff  would appreciate it.  Then it can be placed on Utube for ALL to see.

Regards,
Euro1

As far as I am conserned, if someone wants exclusive video rights, and they will ask just as the photographer does, they can contact me and I can arrange for it,  they would need to pay the vendor fee ect.

No, Molly. It was Family Treasures. They always did great work and I was happy not to take a video camera to national events, because I could order DVDs of the routines I wanted, as well as their Top Ten ,etc packages. They weree also very generous with USA, providing photos for the magazine.

Crystal Video appears to be "dead".

Don't know what Family Treasures is up to these days (post Youtube). Here is a link to their site: http://www.famtreasures.com/Dogsports.htm

Family Treasures sold their business.  I know because I gave them ALL of the DVDs I had purchased from them, to be repaired (yes ALL of them were not working properly) and they told me they would replace/repair them.  That was THREE YEARS AGO.  I have been after them since then, to get my DVDs back.  They are all I have other than still pictures, of my dog in the big trials.  They keep saying "sorry, forgot - they will be in the mail in a week" - heard that time and time again, getting ready to send them another pissed-off message AGAIN to get the same runaround again.  NOT HAPPY.

I did also hear that Crystal videos failed to send paid-for DVDs to people as well after one of the Seiger Shows.
