To me the pup in the picture looks coated but they say not?  I'm not putting the ad down in anyway, just wanted opinions.

Very much looks like a coat...Long slender head and long hair on the back of ears and very much looks like the lions mane is developing.

Got rooked with that price for Leerburg for sure.. Gee wiz

yes it is, there is not such thing as a plush coat........

this dog has fluffy hair behind its ear, its coated.

Nice looking dogs even so!

I think she will turn out to be a coat - but sometimes it is hard with the show-lines - their coats are more "plush" and sometimes the puppy fuzzies behind the ears do go away.  If this were a working-line pup I'd say for sure long-coat - but with this pup, not for sure she is.

I disagree Sitasmom, there are plush, and there are LSC and LH.

As for that pup, my pup at 7 months had much more hair on the tail than that pup.  Hard to say.  She is fluffy behind the ears, but not nearly to the extent my pup has.  It would be interesting to see how she turns out.

I see many plush GSD's more so in the showlines, that are not LSC.

My Kaiser is supposedly a coat-he looked like a fluff ball when he was born!

I was grooming him yesterday and his undercoat fluff would not end-he loves  to be brushed-  will even stop playing ball to come  "hup and platz" on the picnic table from across the yard ( the grooming one we don't serve food there lol not that I mind lol) to get brushed- and he never stops BALL LOL!

They said his sire- Pancho Vom Bergmannshoff was a plush. He looked plush to me.

He's beautiful Katrina, love the dark face!

The breeder sold the dog as a long coat, saying the the hair would get longer, like the other dog pictured. He's had it for about 5 weeks and has learned the truth that the puppy's hair is as long as its gonna get.

Someone identified the puppy as a "plush coat", and not a long coat or a coated shepherd.

This person is not a breeder and doens't know terminology, he is doing the best he can with the informaiton people have given him.

The breed standard has only stock coat, long stock coat and long coat..........no show coats, or plush coats........where do y'all get all these made up names for dog's hair?

I saw this ad, and thought I'd post it, see what folks thought the coat on this dog is.  I think he's pretty, but to me his coat  looks longer than normal.  I'm obviously no expert, since I can't see why some dogs are considered to be long, while others with similar coats are called normal.  What would this coat be considered?

Here goes...  www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/classifieds/60610.html

This is V Yambo Feetback...

Before anybody starts screaming about pointing fingers and making fun of others' dogs... I'm only posting this because I'm curious about coat length, and I didn't say a single thing negative about this dog.
