got this in an email today, please be careful, just in case
Send this to all your friends who are going to Crufts.Just heard that ‘people’ will be attending Crufts this week. They are going to let your dogs out of their cages and cars and set them free.. “A dead dog is better than a show dog” they say. Be warned – Take a padlock etc., just in case! ******* Also on the grapevine the threat of a 'rolling roadblock' on the M42. Get into the nearside lane a junction early so there's no chance of your being blocked in on the centre lane before the NEC exit. ***** The police should be busy his coming weekend, shouldn't they? Important to remember: If you catch someone trying to release a dog and you attack or restrain them, the authorities will take THEIR side - and YOU will become the assailant! Make sure you have a witness to everything you do or say. Take care and be vigilant.

whats the legal situation on 'freeing dogs' especially if they have to comit a criminal act to 'release' the dogs from the cars? likewise a road block on a major motorway? and is the NEC classed as private land - can protestors be moved on? Ironically the police may bring a few of our breed to defend themselves!!!!
Just would like to be more clear on the legalities - as it goes we are going for extreme measures to ensure that all our dogs are safe but you never know....

Sitasmom,you don't know the half of it.
If these fanatics are intending to target Crufts can we expect them to target other shows in the country?

So far as I know, coaches being organised from Nottingham and London, 1 group of 20 are expect from Sheffield. Heres some of their info they have posted;
"The Demo Starts At 10am
The location allocated is right outside the front door (the Piazza Main Entrance P1)
Protesters have been allocated a car park on site (South 3 Coach Park)
From the Car park you have the choice of getting a shuttle bus or walking to the main entrance
For those arriving by train (Birmingham International Rail Station) walk through the Piazza entrance 2 and turn right at the main piazza.
Please take note to not protest or show any placards until you have reached the demo site.
Police will be carrying searches through out the NEC with the aid of sniffer dogs (so leave you naughty stuff at home)
No bullhorns, air horns or megaphones are allowed on site and could result in arrest if used. however if someone would like to bring some music or a guitar, I actively encourage it. "
So at least you know which entrance and car park area to avoid.

PETA has been doing this in the US for many years... Very scary... I posted somewhere about the Champion Borzoi who was released, escaped the building and was killed on the highway in Springfield, Mass many years back. I guess that's their version of "Humane" ??
