Breed specific bans are just a foot in the door to ban ALL pets.
PETA would rather a dog or cat live a ferrel life and starve to death then to be someone's pet.

snajper69,

Can anyone sign these petitions?  Do you have to live in Oregon?

by 1doggie2 on 02 March 2009 - 19:03

This is so frustrating to have to spend time on this and funds when there are so many other tings going on. I wish these people would get a life other than mess with ours!

by 1doggie2 on 02 March 2009 - 19:03

maybe we need to start posting 1 email address of where to complain on the issue, and then no mattter where your are starting flooding them and take down the servers. If we could get the email adress on all pet boards and really push this, maybe we can send a message, WE ARE TIRED OF THIS, AS (VOTING AGE) PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES WITH RIGHTS YOU SEEM SO INTENT ON TAKING AWAY.

There is a constitutional rights march on washington dc on March 30th...........we could all meet there and demand our freedoms.

As sitasmom stated, if this door is opened it will leave a crack in the door that will not be shut.  It's a presidence that is akin to a wolf wounding an animal, it motivates him to go for the kill.  GSD's will not be far behind.  They will wait for something to happen, blow it out of proportion on the media, and legislation will follow.

I am not a huge Pit Bull fan because of the terrible breeding practices that exist and the macho gang use of the breed.  They are exploited and poorly bred and not properly trianed in many cases.  But this is not the dogs fault.  I would not be opposed to see laws tighten up or better yet, more accountability for the owners.  But when we start talking about banning the breed we are talking about throwing the baby out with the bath water, but more importantly, we are talking about denying people their basic rights, and opening a door that we cannot shut.

Again I will ask, can anyone sign this petition, even if not from Oregon???????????????

I must coment on the fact that 5 people have responded, and 97 have taken the time to read this thread.  I am always amazed at the ignorance of the human race.  2000 people will read a thread that has little importance, yet the threads that deal with the biggest threat we all face, no one gives a damn.  This is discusting to me.  So when this board is no longer needed because the gsd is a banned breed than you can take up some other interest.

Yes I live in CT and I have signe it, I don't know how much my signature and comment matters to them, but I know that it dose not hurt to try. I would creat dump people ban rather than breed specific. Dog's are dog's they bite, they fight , they reproduce, owner's are the one that should be held accountable to the dog's action not the dog, dog acts on insticts, we are there to guide them and stear in acceptable direction. I never seen dog agressive, or people agressive taking a bite out of anything if the owner was responsible.

Horrible. Major lack of research. Pit bulls are a big majority in the dog world, and yet they are underrepresented in the dog BITE world in comparison. What a stupid law.
