I trust that most of you read the following paragraphs in the TIMES online article - above
Caroline Kisko, secretary of the Kennel Club, said: “We all think dog shows are under threat. There is a view among some animal welfare groups like the RSPCA that dog shows are bad. But if you don't have dog shows what is the incentive for people to change the way they breed dogs? “We have to get across that showing dogs is about improving the health of dogs and ensuring they have a good temperament.” She acknowledged that a number of breed societies were angry about the new standards. “If they don't accept new standards they will have to go their own way. The majority can't be sacrificed to the minority.”
Is it TIME to CONSIDER this offer from the Kennel Club secretary? What does the Kennel Club Secretary mean, when she says "they will have to go their own way"? Perhaps a door of opportunity is opening, which some breeds will walk through!
I hope the WUSV member Clubs will investigate the possibility of our breed having much closer links with the SV, perhaps including SV REGISTRATION, and compulsory health screening tests, and their DNA parentage test. With the apparent blessing of the Kennel Club.

Mackenzie has made some very valid points regarding Caroline Kisko's comment of the Majority / Minority. Considering the German Shepherd Dog has a WUSV (World Union) Standard, perhaps we should just point out to the KC that if only they would cease to be so insular and accept the WUSV standard for the GSD in its entirety then THEY (the KC) would'nt find themselves having to keep altering standards to suit the next wave of Jemima Harrisons, as they would be standing alone but would have the weight of the World standing with them. As I see it it is the KC that is in the Minority because with the WUSV Standard Majority Rules!!

If we make sure with hard work and enterprise that we are the majority in the UK then we will only have to argue on the basis of majority/minority and thus restrict and nullify any argument from the KC and Alsatianists. Any opinions put forward by the other side would have to be set aside because of the statement by Caroline Kisko. Majority rules.
