She has stated people on here threatened to shoot her accuse her of witholding medication etc.
in the original post I asked if there was any truth in the boxer being witheld medication;
her response Pedigree Dogs Exposed Filmmaker Releases Extended Footage of German Shepherds by Jemima Harrison on 01 February 2009 - 09:02
Wildmoor, no there is no truth in the charge that we withheld medication from the boxer and I find it hard to believe you found this claim anywhere online without mention, too, of our strong rebuttal.
This claim that was made up by someone in a deliberate attempt to discredit us. The boxer was filmed by its owner, not us, and we were not present at the time. The poor dog has cluster seizures, up to 16 in a 24hr period, despite being on strong medication. No need to withhold anything to see this dog fit.

Ok, Wildmoor, what are saying that Jemima lied about? She says the family filmed the Boxer having seizures and I would not expect them to withold meds from their own dog. As to why the dog hasn't been PTS despite its frequent seizures, that does not surprise me at all. Some people love their dogs like children. Would you recommend to a parent of an eplileptic child to have the kid offed just because of the seizures? I'm not saying it's a rational decision, and I'm not saying that I agree with the family's choice, but it the way some people think.

Just a personal note:
I had a gsd ,my last American-line, the one that drove me to the German lines, due to her myriad hereditary medical problems. Those problems included seizures. The seizures began at age 3 and, despote STRONG medication (phenobarbital, 2 pills per day and 3 anti-seizure pills), she had a seizure every month like clockwork. After the death of my Scottie, her seizures escalated to every week, then several times a week, daily, and finally several times a day. The escalation occurred over a mere eight month period. She was PTS, as I realized at the end she was so brain-damaged that she did not know who I was,or where she was and was always frightened. She was on medication and increasing levels, the entire time.
My point is that despite medication, the boxer could still have seizures, as my gsd did.

It's just another lie from Jemima, Pam.
That's what's so infuriating... Jemima is no more interested in animal welfare than our KC... she's about money... so, the odd little lie here and there, who's to know? Saying someone on PDB wanted to shoot her and someone else accused her of witholding meds from a sick dog, makes better press!

i haven't been following this dispute very closely but, putting all the accusations aside for a moment, why not consider working together and produce a follow up documentary. from what i've gleaned there is at least some agreement that there are breeders breeding dogs they should not be bred, and judges titling dogs that are not within the standard; the degree to which these things are happening may be debatable but the fact that it is happening i don't believe is. why not try and cooperate to show the other side of breeding, so people can see there is a better way to do it and that kennel clubs and dog show judges have a responsibility to support those doing the right thing and not reward those who are not. it seems like a logical next step - first) show the dirty underbelly; then) talk about how to do it right, who is doing it right and how to change the system for the better. - just a thought

Wildmoor, I read the article in your link, and that did nothing to establish a reason to believe that the Boxer in the original video was withheld meds to produce some sensationalist piece of news. Please elaborate on your postion...

Justcurious. we tried what you mention... no sale! Jemima is not interested in helping or filming / providing all the facts... I guess it wouldn't sell too well.
The thread is here, somewhere, sorry... I don't remember what the title was.

JH only joined one forum for GSD and this was last month, when the documentry was shown last year some people stated the boxer had been witheld medication, I asked her if the rumors were true, which she denied. But now she is stating we on here accussed her, also threatened to shoot her etc. when we did not.
Missbeeb I believe the original thread dissapeared, I have some of it not all but I do have all her posts. It was the one which George posted showing the footage from Manchester show.
