California is at it again. Senate Bill 250 would mandate sterilization for dogs and cats that do not receive an "unaltered license". obviously, theres a bit more to this bill. go to www.petpac.net to read more about it and sign the petition to say NO.

I signed, sick of them trying this....

Thanks for making us aware of the most dangerous thing that our dogs face today, animal activists gone wild and empty headed politicians that have no discernment, and a nation of empty headed people that will run off the cliffs like Lemmings if led.
Take a look at your thread angusmom.  All these dog people on here around the country, claiming to want the best for their dogs.  They want to know the best food, the best bloodlines available, the best training techniques, the best videos, and on and on and on.  But 32 people have taken their precious time to read the most important, critical issue that faces our dogs today. The extermination of our breed and our basic constitutional rights to have and care for our own dogs in the best way we see fit.  I am the first one to post here, perhaps everyone is trying to find out what colar their puppy will be when they grow up.

We are faced with a mighty foe.  It is dishonesty, ignorance, money, Hollywood, TV. propaganda meant to decieve, and the ignorance and apathy of those who are the only ones that could oppose this monster.  This crap makes me want to puke.  We will get what we have reaped.  We have sown apathy, and it will be rewarded.

I do not live in Ca. but I will probably do more to help defeat this dung than those that live here, how sad.

P.S.
I may continue to bring this thread up until everyone gets sick of seeing it at the top.  If I have to be an a--  to wake up this board I would gladly do it.

Here they go again...Why don't they require mandatory sterilisation for women who live their lives on public assistance by having children?  Dogs, at least, don't cost the state tens of millions of dollars a year for all the medical, food, and housing...

This is getting OLD. I live in California and signed it.

I just signed it and I am a California resident although I am thinking of running away.

Part of the problem is that it says OT in the heading.  When I see that, I assume the thread is just a bunch of whackos ...... and not about dogs.  I don't even open those threads.

But, I saw that the last post was Jyl and I knew that it couldn't be because she wouldn't bother with whackos.

Change the heading to something like - Mandatory Spay Neuter-SB 250 California is at it again!

Everyone would read this post and sign the petition for sure.

Michele,
Great advice.  I may have been a tad harsh, but this to me is the issue of our time and will have a devestating effect on all of us.  We will no longer need this board.

by angusmom on 26 February 2009 - 20:02

this will affect everyone eventually, even if it isn't in your state now. it just means that we have to pass the info on repeatedly, each and every time a "new" bill pops up. tell your family, friends, fellow breeders, trainers, neighbors, etc. both of my dogs are spayed/neutered - i do not breed, either deliberately or accidently, but i (as a progressive, mind you) really feel that our government, whether local, county, state or federal needs to focus on much more important issues. we don't need making every decision for us. please keep passing the info out there.
