This subject was covered on another thread...there's been a lot of concern expressed, not only for the well-being of the dogs, but also for the children in this situation.

Some of the posters here think that with Kate's organizational skills that everything will be fine, but others think that major behavioural issues are in the making.  I tend to fall in the latter group.  Worries the heck out of me what'll happen to the pups, and the kids, when they get a bit bigger.

I use to love the show.  I do find myself continuing to make excuses for behavior.  After seeing her get any puppies, muchless GS puppies and two of them, I am over her.  I also don't understand the breeder, I don't think anyone understands him.  Being on TV though, if she doesn't do right by them, I do see a backlass coming.

I glad to see others are worried.

I don't watch the show too often, but I've seen more than a few episodes. In regards to the puppies I would've: 1) waited till the kids were older; 2) gotten ONE dog, then, if that worked CONSIDERED adding a second.

However, they're a "Truman Show" family, so I suppose more than about having a pet, it's about ratings. If they start to slide, mix it up a little, and what better way to increase the viewer quota than with puppies? *shakes head*

Personally, I don't think they're doing a bad job with the kids, I mean one is hard, but imagine raising a whole litter! I can't honestly say very many people could do any better. It wasn't like they were trying to have eight.

Now that Nadya Sullman (sp) woman, the one who had 6 kids and now has 8 more -- no job, no husband, her only income is welfare and food-stamps, lives with her mom (mom's house is most likely getting forclosed), to the point where even her own parents say she is not thinking well -- that's different. I suspect THAT will lead to a lot of behavior problems right there...

...And that's as far as I'll hijack this thread with a personal rant.

That breeder should not have sold her 2 puppies!!! I can see MAYBE 1 but 2 is way too much and with 8 kids to boot, you are just asking for disaster!!!! but like Susan said if she doesn't do right by them and being on TV they will be attacked for it and I even might think the TV ratings would drop as well b/c of it. We will wait and see I guess.

It is NEVER a good idea to buy two puppies at the same time.  It is horrible for the puppies development and socialization.  They tend to stick together instead of bonding with the humans.  A very discplined trainer (who would crate them and bring them out seperately) could make it work, but then they wouldn't do it to begin with.  Too much trouble.  Puppyhood is too important a time to be shuffling dogs around when they could be using all of the interaction they can get so tas to be successful in their realtionship with their humans.

I can't believe a breeder would put the pups in such a situation.

Too bad we put that dog that bit me 240 times to sleep. He would have been perfect for Nadya Sullman.

I can't believe I thought that up, let alone wrote it here... Does this mean I am going to hell?
