Help from all of you dog sport people. I am a fairly new member to the dog sport and I attended numerous seminars from a well known breeder/kennel/club. They told me they preferred cash. Now two years later they are filing small claim action against me to pay for the seminars that my name is on attendance sheets. I already paid but I paid cash the way I was requested. Can anyone help?
Word to the wise that anyone in the dog world should make sure they get receipts for any/all functions they attend or they can be sued later for payment.

can they prove that you didnt pay?   sounds like  a case of  you vs. them.  if you didnt pay, why did they let you attend?  i know we dont let none payers hang around at our seminars.

I'm calling bullshit. Never, ever have I heard of anything like this.

Get a Real Dog, I will include you in links to court docs as this comes before the courts. But I can tell you that this is real and you can google CT court docs and find the dirtbag that is trying to collect on past training seminars paid for in cash. This man and kennel should be run out of the sport and the breed.

This just sounds so bogus Chuckles. Why, as someone already pointed out, would any club allow someone to stay who had not paid. We are generous, but we require, as do all clubs I know of, payment in advance. If someone showed up at the last minute, we would ask them to leave because we always limit it. If we had room for them to stay, they would have to pay up right then. We do not give receipts. IF something like this had happened as alleged, we would end up eating it.

I think you may know a few people in CT. Reach out in PM and you may get some information. The information about this legal action is spreading like locusts. FYI it is an action on behave of an Estate. The official legal links will be provided. Let us all hope that the legal system works and this BS ends. Maybe this guy should get a real job and earn a living rather than trying to feed off others.
Maybe you could all offer letters to the poor soul being sued. I am sure it could help in the court preceeding.
