She's been around a while and I haven't heard anything negative.

I know her very well, what would you like to know?

I’d like to know what you think of her, her dogs, her breeding policies. I realize I need to make phone calls, visit kennels, and form my own opinion. I’m just looking for reasons to either give her a call or take her off my list.  We are looking for a dog to be a family companion and protector. We’ve attended a few local agility classes and would like to try our hand at it.  We are not looking for a dog with super high prey drive. Do you think her dogs would be a good fit?

She has good balanced dogs.  you shouldn't have any issue with a puppy from her.  She does occasionally croos work/showlines, but I haven't heard of any dogs that were so high drive the owners couldn't handle them.

Susanne has dogs that are perfect family companions.  She does get the edgy one from time to time, but the list is always very long for those!  She has bred her lines for years and knows them very well, and is very picky about where her dogs go.  Of her females, May, Moon and Pippin are my favorites, although she does have a young up and coming female she calls Peanut that is a solid black little beauty!  She produces substantial males and stucture is a priority.  Knowing her lines so well, she is able to match puppy with home very well.

I personally have a yearling work/show cross from her that is an amazing girl, we call her wonder puppy.

By all means call her, e-mail sometimes works better, have a cup of coffee handy and more than a few minutes, she is a teacher... and good at it too!

I agree with Avorow.  I have met Susanne a couple times and she is very helpful.  I do not have an Austerlitz dog, but she has answered countless questions for me.

Susanne is wonderful and really IS a teacher!  Sometimes if I have a question I call her and she always gives good solid advise!  I have also known her for years and have trained some with her club.  She has outstanding ethics, her breeding standards are very high, she knows her stuff, trains and titles what she breeds, extremely picky about where her dogs/puppies go......I wouldn't be suprised if she does a home visit!  I hold alot of respect for Susanne!  She is tops in her breeding knowledge and ethics.........you won't go wrong!!  Also, if you cant handle brutal honesty don't ask her for her opinion!  She will tell you exactly the way it is and not sugar coat anything!  That is what I like about her as well!

Good Luck,

Vickie

Ha Vickie, I have also always admired her bluntness! You always know where you stand with Susanne!
