This is a very good example,  that A Geman Shepherd  is an all around dog that can do practically anything. This is a GREAT STORY!!

What are Voles and Shrews?

I understand Hazy saved the lives of well over 20 sheep, they didn't count them all, because once she had started finding them, dead and alive, speed was very important. Another interesting point is, when she found where one sheep was, and they dug it out, Hazy frequently kept barking and digging in the same area, and was told to "FIND" again and again. But Hazy would not move, so they dug around the place where the first one was found and found others next to each other. This happened several times, with Hazy barking and digging to indicate there were more sheep "down there". Everybody involved, is very proud of Hazy. She has the natural instincts of a good Shepherd.

Hmmm, sounds like the guy that owned the sheep, ISN'T a very good shepherd. Shouldn't they have been in a barn bedded down in such weather? What an idiot.
