Any suggestions on the matter? I'm trying to get the pups use to having a leash on from the litter I recently had. They're all 6 and 1/2 weeks old......not GSDs for anyone wondering.  Would you guys just wait a couple weeks or what? I've put the collar on them, left a light leash on, and even tried motivating them with food......keep in mind I've only tried it once. They have awesome food drives already and follow it intently. However once they do hit end of the leash they scream if there is any tention. Obviously it isn't hurting them because I see them running around dragging the leashes around playing like they don't have a care in the world.

These 2 brothers were about 12 weeks old (older than I usually have them). To help in the leash process, I hooked the two of them togeather(supervised, of course), they pulled each other, this way, that way and the other way, all in the name of fun. HAD no idea I was behind it. That leash became a non-issue real quick!!!

I never give mine a chance for the lead to be an issue...It goes on, they go out... no issue!

AmbiiGSD  I put it on with no issues. It's when they realize someone is trying to pull them, they stop, squeel, and sit.

Then don't try to pull them...

Which BS answer is that? the one where the OP answered their own question, or the one where I pointed it out to them?

One of my pups was like this,,,crying, whining, planting his butt,,, but he had good food drive
so I had my son feed him a piece of liver, then I would have my son
back up a little so Jake (pup) would pull on it himself..then I'd move with him so he could
get the liver...after a few times a day for a few days..he no longer cared & would follow
easy because he thought he was getting liver....
