I have a male who goes between 103-112, depending on his shape. At 7 1/2 mos old he weighed 75 at Vets. Your boy looks to be a Giant.

Baden was a fast sprouter too, at 5 months he looked adult sized. All that bone weighs alot remember that. How about a new pic of your 55 pounder?

I think that is a little bit much weight for that age. You are opening yourself up for a case of pano. Keep the protein, lose the fat. I love a big dog ,Just try to keep it in check as a pup, As they mature, , "it is what it is" .I hate when someone tries to regulate the standard,by cutting back on nature, food.
You see some dogs with big ole heads, NOT in proportion to body, FOR the sake of "standard". FEED A DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!

kitkat,
i thought that 2 but you can see his 2 back ribs, and his belly indents between ribs and hips.
he is fed raw, and i cut off 99% of the fat.
his legs are as thick as baby trees. he is HUGE BONED!
his mother weighs 85lbs. i didn't know that.
his sire is 95
i "despise" overweight dogs.
he is not "fat" by any means.
he is 21 inches at the shoulder already.
i just can't even imagine how big he is going to be as an adult
i hate when people have gsd that are 28inches 120 and they are proud of that!!!
he's mine i will love and keep him forever but he will be neutered if he is oversized

Don't neuter him early . I don't care what anyone else says, "fixed " dogs do go overweight. sounds like you are doing the right thing. Some dogs are just big and bigger. He looks beautiful. Keep him energized and exercised. Sounds like he is destined to be big. PLEASE, don't show a big old headed dog, skinney body, But within the standard!!!
(I really know you would not do that I just really hate that) Let him be who and what he is! A Big, Nice, German Shepherd!

My female weight in 45 at that age, and people was stilla sking me why I don't feed my dog lol hahaha some dog's just grow fast, and trust me I keep food intace low, lol. Now at 7 I think her body regulate it itself because she dosen't seem as big comparing to other dogs of the same age.

thanx snajper.. he is my 3rd male and i don't remember any of them being this size!!
and as adults my 2 males were 26 inches 90lb boys.
i always thought 4 months about 40lbs, so i was shocked when i saw 55lbs.
