When taking deposits for unborn puppies/planned breedings, do you have a contract?  If so, what does yours entail?  Thanks.

The last one I received (as a buyer) contained the following:

The amount of deposit
The total purchase price
The name of the sire and dam I wanted a pup from
The sex of the pup I wanted
The breeder agreed to make every effort to fulfil my preference, but I agreed should circumstances beyond the breeder's control prevent this, my deposit could be transfered to another litter.
I agreed the deposit was non-refundable
Dated and signed by both myself and the breeder

We don't take deposits until there is a confirmed litter. Alot can happen and I hate to make a client wait extra time for a pup from another litter.

I do not take deposits for un confirmed  pregnancy   if preg. is confirmed a limit numer of deposits . I do  reserve by word   until  one  tops weeks  past  birth .

Used to reserve by word   much longer only to have  people change their minds  just before pups  where ready to be placed  and  other callers been turned away . No more of that .

If one seeks a working prospect has placed a deposit on a given litter and in the event  I do not think a pup is suitable I return the deposit and sell   pup to a family home.

My  deposit slip does state  non refundable  . I have refunded deposits  for various reasons   . a few times due to  a buyer just not being patiend  long enough  for me to evaluate a litter . I can not sell anyone promising working prospect  or suitable family member  without  the proper age to do so .  some buyers  for instance  family dog  I inform them about my selection process  BUT due to so many books out on the market      " pick your own  pup  the friendliest boldest etc " some get pushy and  think due to having the deposit in prior to  a working home deposit should get their pick .  Well , here  is your deposit have a nice day :)
I have kept very few deposits,  those  people  that  strung me along   had  the suitable prospect  but for some reason or another could not take the pup .

I have at present a 2 day old litter   1 male reserved for my helper   2 males  active pet ........  1 male remaining
2 females       option to keep one back and a  reserve by word .   Due to the quality of the litter and  inquires  for more family orientated  homes. I opted to say at present I do not want to sell out  the litter at only 3 days old .

I rather refund a deposit then talk anyone into a pup  or  place a pup into an unstable/ non suitable  enviroment .

this is my policy for deposits, I generally don't except them till after the litter is born.

YOU MUST SPEAK WITH US BEFORE SENDING DEPOSIT

As is standard throughout the dog industry, Deposits are non-refundable.

This is to insure that both the buyer and the seller are protected on the sale of the pup for which deposit is being given.  Deposits are placed by you for securing your choice for a pup or dog you wish to purchase from Uber Land Kennels.   Your timely deposit will secure the next available puppy pick from our upcoming litter(s).  Your deposit prevents this puppy from being sold to another buyer.  If you are not positive about sending a deposit, or your housing situation for bringing a pup into your home is unsure at this time;  you may want to consider waiting until everything is right ... in the best interest of you and your new puppy.

When you verbally confirm with us that you are sending your deposit via POSTAL MONEY ORDER (Must be sent via Fedex or UPS over night or next day service), MONEY GRAM, OR WESTERN UNION, we then tentatively reserve the puppy to you for 48 hours,  allowing for holidays and weekends during this reservation period. During this 48 hour period, availability of said pup is removed from access to other buyers, with the understanding that the deposit is to be received by our facility within this time allotment.

If your deposit has not arrived within the 48 hour time period, the pup will be then released for sale to other buyers.  This means that if another client sends in their deposit within the 48 hour time period, their deposit is documented prior to your deposit being received within the reserved time frame, they are ahead of you in pick # choice for a puppy in designated litter.  This is why we give you the option of wiring funds via money gram or western union whereby your deposit immediately secures you a puppy.

The above policy is standard for our kennel, unless denoted verbally by us at the time you are discussing your deposit and puppy choices...

It is understood by both parties that if pups born in a litter, it is expected that the pup will be purchased and fully paid for by you, the buyer, according to our payment policies.

In cases of default on a pup by the purchaser, deposit and monies paid are forfeited by the purchaser.
