On Saturday I had the pleasure of a visit from KitKat and her family, and her beautiful VA Keving Murrtal son Duke. We had a couple of fun hours together, plenty of giggles. Great folks, very cool dog. I look like crap because I had been unpacking and going through old boxes from when we moved in here and cleaning out closets all day for a mega-trip to the thrift shop drop-off and the dumpster.
Her son has all the ear marks of a helper prospect. ;-) Don't you think?
If that didn't make for a good enough weekend, I found a package outside my door yesterday. It was from amazon.com, courtesy of MVF- "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" in hardcover, which I have been dying to read since I picked it up (for an hour) at Walmart a few weeks ago.
Thanks you!!!
Happy girl!

We did not track Saturday, but I did get a chance to do a little obedience with Duke.
What a NICE boy! I'm hoping Kitkat can see her way to come back down for training when we get back on schedule this year, give me a kick in the butt to get out and get Goofball titled sooner.
MVF is one of my favorite people. He has a Carol x Gabi son I can't wait to see in training this year. When he came to pick his pup I tried to tie him to the porch for a few extra hours of intelligent conversation but he was too big and dead- fit (marathon runner!) to catch, let alone get the cuffs on. Sigh... I tried. Intelligent life is hard to come by here in 'the Holler.'
For as much as there ARE a few maladjusted weirdos on this board (a new crop the end of every year it seems, eh?) there are also some fannn-tass-tic people I have come to call dear friends. I look forward to meeting more of ya'll in my travels this year.
Anybody going to Nashville? If I can get t ready and come up with expenses I'm thinking we might try to do a last hurrah in the National FH Ch. I hope he remembers how to do a 100 pt FH because in that company we might need 105.

I am so glad that I took the ride to meet Shelley, SHE IS GREAT!!! My dog loved her. I had a great time. Tracy B., has told me several times to try to get with her.
I had the pleasure of watching Shelley's dog work a little. That is what I would love to be able to do with my dogs.
I am in the process of getting a new (used) truck so I can get to her house a few times a month when the training begins. I can't wait, and I know Duke will be so much the better for it. He acted like a totally different dog with Shelley.
(thanks beetree) My son wants to go back and get some lessons from Shelley too!
That will be GREAT to have my own helper.
