Can some explain how a dog is positioned for the elbow x-ray?  On the side with two views one of each elbow or on the backwith one view?  I assume both would be needed to actually see any defoematy in a hinged joint like this.

Also, how soon after weening a litter is it safe to assume there is no change in the elbow due to pregnancy or lactating?  It seems the hips may have some change after a litter, but elbows???

I don't know about elbows but it wouldn't hurt to wait a bit after a litter.

I have just put if off so long as she was in the crux of the requirment when passed last winter.   Same stage of post partum and being sent off to earn her sch titile.    I want to get her breed survey done asap after her coat returns, sometime in June and it would be nice to have all the paperwork done!

She moves great, much more like a working dog than a show dog so I don't think she will have a problem passing.

I am not in the room whilst xrays are taken but the vet does a couple of each elbow individually

For elbow x-rays the dog is on her side and the elbow is flexed then turned over and the same is done for that side, one good x-ray is all that is required.
