Anyone know anything about Metin?  Is he still alive?

by Zeuseline on 16 February 2009 - 07:02

Hi, I have known Metin, but he isn't alive. He died a few years ago.

I think Eisen Faust worked that dog. I swear he told me that once. If I remember correctly, he said he was a good, strong dog. Metin is the maternal grandfather to my new import bitch for breeding, Capri vom Hagenberg.

Thanks.

Zeuseline -- what did you think of him?

Jenni -- PLEASE keep me informed of breeding plans for Capri.

Bucko, sure. She won't even be 2 until March 26. She will then be breed surveyed (I've been pretty much guaranteed she'll go "V") and bred and then shipped. I haven't decided on a stud for sure yet. I am going to let the people handling her pick, probably, as they owned her sire, V Snoopy vd Fasanerie, for many years and know what lines were the best crosses. She will be bred to a Sch3, V-rated, KKL1 male w/normal hips. Snoopy's zw is a 68...and he's 9 years old. I will post when I know what's going on. I won't remember all the people who asked; there's been a ton of inquiries on this litter, and I don't even know who the stud is yet, LOL.

Ok, will do.  I hope you post a pic of Capri at some point.

I like these lines!

If you picked up Xato in the sire, you'd probably have a queue that goes on for many repeat breedings...

Not sure I'm heading West in this breeding...

I have one crappy pic of her so far. I will post when I get more. She's a really nice bicolor w/good bone and excellent structure. PM me your email address and I'll send you the one I have.

I'm sure you will give it a lot more thought than I have -- but this V SchH3 boy gives you 5-4,4 on Xato.  He's young (pluses and minuses there).

Not that you want to go west.

To be honest, part of the appeal is that Capri is comprised of slightly "different" lines than your typical high-end working West dogs. Yeah, Xato is there, and Fero is there..but so many also that are not common in the states at all, and many that are reported by those who know/knew them, to be far better than the ones they allowed to be bred and overbred over here. I may stick w/the more obscure for this breeding...since it's probably my only chance to get her bred over there. Who knows which direction I'll go later on. I admit, that's not a bad ped at all.

I am fortunate to have people handling this for me who KNOW, personally, these lines and have been doing this long enough to know what crosses are best. I am gonna let them give me their best advice.
