I have some left over from lunch today, they were cooked in the shell, but not opened. I only usually only feed raw, but can I give them to him and let him break it open? Under my supervision of course. But is it OK?

OOOh... don't know, shells are sharp.

by beetree on 15 February 2009 - 21:02

That's what I was thinking, barnacles are nasty too.  Do him a favor and shuck it for him, try not to lose the juice.

Thats why I asked, I thought so. Thanks guys.

What are you thinking? How about lacerations, broken or chipped teeth, impaction, all for a damn oyster? Where is common sense?

More importantly... oysters for lunch?    I expect you're busy now!

Hahahaha Missbeeb!!! Soooooo Single and lovin it! As for my buddy Hoodie, would you rather me not ask, and just do it? I thought that was what the message board was for? I must have been mistaken, sooooo sorry to have intruded on the BS by 4pack, and Raymond.

No Rugers,

I would rather you have common sense and not even consider giving a dog an unopened or opened solid shell. Then you would not have to ask! LOL

the shells crumble rather easily after they are cooked, so yes, it crossed my mind. Call me stupid.

The only stupid question is the one you DON"T ask.......so you caught a wild hair.....everyone's entitled to a couple of not-so-bright-ideas, you asked, & your dog doesn't suffer for it!

Now about those oysters........Steve1 is lonely, I hear! And quite the gentleman! Maybe you should save some for him, next time! I bet he's a really good.....ummmm.... shucker!!! jh
