That depends what is in the gene pool of both of the parents. For example I bred my black and tan showline bitch to a sable working line male. There were 9 puppies 3 were bicolors and 6 were red sables. Then I bred my showline black and red male to a solid black working line bitch. There were 6 puppies in that litter 2 were black and tan and 4 were black and red. I don't think that color is as important as temperment, drive, and structure (to me these three things are equally important) as long as the color is within the GSD standard.
