If everyone who bought one last year can let me know if the $75 price tag the local pet store is charging for one is worth it, I would appreciate it.

I rather just brush my dog every day for few minutes, I though about furminator for a while and I decided against it.

I had thought about getting one...but after close review and talking to others...and seeing them for myself...I decided against it...They involve a blade that actually cuts the hair...So for my German Shepherds I'd rather use the Shedding Rake and a Comb and sometimes a Pin Brush...They work very well...Just take a little time to get the results you'd like...

You can find it cheaper online.....
I use it for my older girl, aka "Oh Fuzzy one!" The others I use an undercoat rake when they are blowing their coats, then the slicker.

"They involve a blade that actually cuts the hair" yup that was exact what turn me away from it. :) I am not interested in shaving my dog. lol

Which is why I use it for my older girl! LOL She could use less fur, not like she's entered in any beauty pagents anytime soon.
I won't use it on the younger one, she only blows twice a year being intact and is great in between......

I hate the one I bought. My dog hates it to. It pulls and cuts his hair. He has thicker hair and when I try to brush him with it -it sounds like finger nails on a chalk board. He does much better with the rake. However several people in my club love theirs.
We use the furminator to get the cats hair clumps and that is about it.
