We wish the show all success. Mrs Dorssen is a great judge and a great  breeder too. I am sure she will do a great job on the 15th. All the best to the organisers and thank you for getting such a good judge to Hyderabad. Let us all participate and make this show a grand success. I do not think you can question her qualifications, ability and integrity.

as far as the credibility of the judge goes you could have found using internet
no need to raise questions about the judge's morality here

She seems to be pretty credit worthy and honest

cheers & Good Luck

Dear GSD lovers of India.
Without any ill intent I could not help it but notice a lot of dissatisfaction among you regarding show results in India.
You will not get too far by questioning credibility of every jsingle judge judging at your shows.
It is more or less normal that there will be more or less satisfied people  after that show on 15.02.2009. That does not mean that it was "fixed". Your views and understanding of GSD do not necessarily have to be the same as the judges.
It may happen that your dogs will not present themselves at their best on that day becaouse of some reason, or something.
DO not create tension in advance. It will only make everybody nervous, including the dogs. Prepare your dogs the best you can and let them impress the judge if they can.
Like everywhere in the world, people visiting GSD shows (majority) can recognize a good dog when they see one. SO you rest assured that the good dog will be noticed even if the judge fails to do so (which I doubt in Mrs. van Dorsen's case).
And again, there is this thing which Mr. D. Payne once said:"There are always more judges outside the ring than in the ring".
Good luck  and enjoy yourselves.

Hello to all Indian GSD. enthusiast.

without wanting to get too involved with your politics, i find it absolutely incredible that anyone in your country could dare question the integrity of Margit Van Dorssen: in my opinion she is without equal in her contribution to, and outstanding record as a breeder of the German Shepherd Dog.
I have some knowledge of judging in your country, having been fortunate enough to judge the GSD. club of India Championship show , which was held  in Patiala in 1995. My host was the late Vijay Singh, who's family home, was my "home" for the duration of my stay, much more enjoyable, and informal, than a Hotel: but at no time during my stay, did he try to influence me in any way regarding his, or anybody else's dogs. My  integrity was not in question, nor, i am sure,  is Margit Van Dorssen's.

Good luck with your show in Hyderabad.

Kind regards Paul Rattigan.

Eagleeye. I dont blame you for an assumed name as it makes it easier not to be targeted, but let me tell that those very people whose integrity you are questioning would never victimise you. I know Mr. D. Krishnamurty  for 30 years and I have even had a disagreement with him a long time ago but you would never guess that if you saw the mutual respect we have to each other. Sanjay Desai I know just as well, business predator he may be but goes soft when you talk shepherds they mean the world to him but these gentlemen would not stoop to influence any judge, they would not even think about it leave alone engineer it.. Vishal, he is doing the breed in our country a service by giving us the oppurtunity to use his super dogs who dont need partiality from judges to win major honours.
Margit Dorssen is a very respected judge, she is our guest let us show her the utmost respect. Let us prove we are worthy of having her here to judge our dogs.(btw my dogs are not competing at Hyderabad so I dont an axe to grind :D )
She has shown that she knows her subject and others have shown that she is a judge of the highest standing so please hold your silence. About dogs like Mika , Franjo and Igor, if you knew how good they were you would be using them in your breeding program instead of casting aspersions on their owners' characters.
I am sorry if I offended you but you have targeted exactly those people who you can trust. Yes there are some ugly truths in real life regarding other exhibitors and you would not be able to live with real truth.
I have come back into shepherds after a ten year gap in which time I have trained 12 National Champions in another sport. I consider GSDs as my greatest strength.  You wont get to prove me wrong.
Blame a judge if you feel so after the event, they can make a mess they are also human. I know ring stewards who were less than perfect affected the result. If you feel a judge was influenced dont blame the organisers, it's like shooting the messenger.
If you are dissatisfied just move on to the next show, dont fling mud.
Paulie you just stirred up a painful memory, whenever I walk up to a large GSD speciality ring I visualise Vijay and Orfano Ble Iris flying round the ring. Long may he live in our hearts.

In the profile of Ms Margit van Dorssen on ' usasiegershow.com/2009/judgeMargitVanDorssen.aspx' ,  a list of 16 countries where Ms.Dorssen has judged Sieger Shows is mentioned. It  was disappointing  not to find India's name in the list, the 9th Indian Sieger show  held in Mumbai was judged by her.
