I am rooting for the German Shepherd and the Scottish Terrier, as usual!

It will be interesting to see some of the more recently recognized breeds, too.  There are so few bench shows anymore.  When I was a kid, the shows in my home-town were mostly bench shows and it was really great to get to actually approach and touch the dogs, talk to the breeders, etc.   I cannot remember the last one I attended.

Is the Red & White Irish eligible for this show, or is it too recently recognized to make the cut?

I was just watching it on USA Network and after the Hound Group it switched to WWF! Why?? The Deer Hound was way nicer looking than Ric Flair IMO!!!

SitasMom, don't worry about missing it - it'll rerun at midnight tonight (Eastern) and also during the day tomorrow.  At least here, so check your local listings.

Trailrider, it's still on but switched to CNBC after the Hound Group, so you just need to change the channel.

"Is the Red & White Irish eligible for this show, or is it too recently recognized to make the cut?"

Too soon for them.  They became eligible to show in the Sporting Group Jan. 1, 2009, and Westminster entries were closed long before then.

Next year, though!

Thought the GSD was lovely.

Interesting that so far it's an all-black dog final!

Scottish Deerhound (ok, grey-black on that one)
Scottish Terrier
Standard Poodle
Puli

Can't remember seeing that before.
