I thought I knew the answer, The dog had to be born in Germany.

BUT

My friend called she just bought a working lin pup and the owner has not tattooed yet and no papers yet. So both parents are imports w/pink papers. She said two of her other dogs had pink and they were born in the states.

So who gets pink?

How do you get the dog tattooed? (with the correct tattoo)

Thanks everyone.....

Some helpful information here.......The dog must be tattooed by a USA tattoer/breedwarden.

Thank you,

So the papers my dog has and the parents of her pup (pink) are differant than pink from USA.

So do I have this right?

SV pink papers born in Germany

USA papers pink (w/the requirements of usa)

It depends whos pink papers u want.  As far as I know the SV pink papers only come from the SV in Germany, if the dog is born outside of Germany then the SV will not give the pink papers.  The breedwarden in Germany will oversee the  tatoos and make sure everything is inline for the German SV papers.

If the litter is born in the US then that can not happen.  I have heard you can get pink papers through UScA. But those dont mean anything as far as registration outside of the US.  You would still need the AKC registration and Pedigree.

If I am wrong someone let me know, but that is how I understand it.
