why keep the price a secret, if you know what you want ,put it in the ad, it will keep you from answering alot of messages from people who dont have that much in their budget.

Very good point.  It is horrible to get excited about a dog you want to buy only to find the price is way out of your budget.  Also gives researchers a chance to get the feel of what they can expect for their money without being made to feel like a timewaster.

I place the prices in my ads,  and still can't get interested/serious people to email me,  just window shoppers.  If I do get an email,  they decide they want a male and not a female or something else like that.  irritates the hell out of me.  please know what you want before you start contacting breeders.

I find that most breeders want to know what you want the dog for,as litters have different traits good for one thing or another,  some maybe for campanion some schh in the same litter so that is why they dont. You pay for their experience the best thing to do is try and research the info they give, ask question here.If it then looks like what you might want then inquire with you list of wants, it cuts down on chatter. .Most breeders will know what type of homes each dogs needs to go to. There best are higher priced than the ones who will fit in a family(pets). They only want the best ,breed or shown with their blood lines on the pedigree. Also dont take me wrong there are some scammers who want you on the phone to con you. So research first. best on your search There are alot of good breeders on here just ask they will help with what you want near were you live. You can always PM them if you dont want to talk on forum.

Post prices?
Too much competition, too many deals, so many secrets.
You don't post the price has a lure, to lure the buyer in close, then comes the salesmanship.
Posting a price leaves out the suspence...LOL
The bait comes first, then the hook.  Then you reel em in and get the net.

i dont, for the simple reason its a good way of finding out a bit about them
if the first thing they ask when i get a call is how much? i hang up
i find the genuine people come forward and ask about the lines health etc then the price.

People don't post prices because they don't want everyone else to know what they are selling them for sometimes.
There are lots of reasons actually.

tigermouse, why would I need to know the lines health etc., and get excited about the dog ,then find out the dog is out of my budget, then I wasted your time and mine, as so many people only want serious inquires, I cant be serious until I know the price.
