So Bella starts limping a few days ago on one of her front legs. At 9 months she's like a tornado most days so figured it was a minor sprain or something.  This morning she seems very depressed and is limping so bad it looks like she is doing the goose step when she walks. So back to the vet  today They can't find anything wrong such as broken bones, so give me some anti-inflamatory  meds for Bella and tell me to come back in a few weeks for shoulder x-rays if things aren't back to normal. Hopefully it isn't anything serious. After the mange ordeal with Bella and the Lymes odeal with Trigger (all within the past 3 months) I'm going broke. How can people afford dogs anymore?

Sounds like Pano. A really good vet will be able to see a clear case on an xray...but not always.

Hang in there.

Totally sounds like pano to me too.  My bitch had 3 reocurring bouts until she was about 20 months.  It can come with a slight feaver too, which would explain the "depression".  Just have to wait it out and rest them.  My vet Rx'd tramodol to help with the pain if she seemed like she was in a lot of pain.  I watched her protein intake also, just in case that had anything to do with it............

Oh boy, hope it isn't pano. Just seems like one thing after another lately :(

Didn't they just pass another gazillion dollar bail out package? I need to start holding my hand out there.....LOL

Really? I'd be hoping it WAS Pano if I were in your shoes. At least Pano's cheap and not devastating, like a dysplasia, OCD, etc.

by triodegirl on 07 February 2009 - 21:02

Jenni78, you're right. Pano would definitely be the lesser of the evils. The vet did mention possible dysplasia. Guess I'm hoping it just turns out to be nothing....

Well, we all hope it's nothing, but obviously it's SOMETHING. Dogs don't fake it, lol. Good luck!
