What do you think of my baby?
Hero is already 4 months old, they grow so fast.
Its so difficult to keep him still long enough to take a photo,
Maybe next time they will turn out better.

Love his face and color...unfortunately I can't say the same about his body :-(  He's terribly barrel bellied and his croup is so steep it's nearly non existant.

His angulation in the rear isn't bad....sufficient.  In this case I'm glad he doesn't have more because he'd look so overdone with the poor topline.

I'm sure he's a bright little bugger, and I'd hope he'd make a fantastic pet for you.

He won't set still hey?
Try a blind and high speed shutter speed..lol
Its easier to get good shots when they don't know your watching..LOL

Or get help for staged shots.

His face looks better than his rear....:)

Must be the camera setting he looks bigger at 3.5 months than when two weeks older
A great expression on his face. None of the Pups are perfectly formed certainly not in a camera shot
And so it is with Heidi
Someone told me yesterday they visually thought she had too long a lenght for a female, but she is only 15 weeks old but she willbe what will be, wqe cannot change them
Enjoy your Pup he is a little cracker

Hello Sitasmom. Hero is a very nice pup. The last photo at 4mths he is not stacked properly so it gives the appearance that his croup is steep but actually it is not and his rear angulation is normal (Good). The first photo with the tug is very good, because he is not showing any hocking as many puppies at this stage do. Good luck with him.
Sean.

They can go through the uglies at this age.  His topline is poor, but this is likely transitional..  Wait to try to get stacked photos for a bit.

Dont worry too much about the topline. My girl also went through a rumpy stage. His topline looked fine when he was 3 and half months old. But his clolour is to die for! In the picture where He's 4 months old, he isnt stacked properly either. His right leg is too far under him. Push out a bit.

Notice the weird topline?(roxxy at 9 months)

Her topline is fine at the age of 21 months!

Wait it out.

He's a pretty boy,  his topline isn't like it looks in the 4 month pics.  I've seen his entire litter and all the pups have nice toplines,  no roaching or steep croups.  you need 3 people to get a good picture.
you hold and stack him,  have someone else working the camera,  and the 3rd person in front of him getting his attention with a toy or something.

Sitasmom,

I liked this dogs head shot the first time I saw him as I was scrolling down the posts.  Great pigment, and looks like he will have a nice masculine head.  IMO I place little value on photos taken of a pup in regards to comformation, they are just too hard to read often, and photos can misleading at best.  His top line that some comented on means absalutely nothing to me, especially at this age.  I agree with Sean that he is showing no cow hawk and anymore that seems to be rare.  I am looking forward to seeing what this guy looks like as he matures.

What is his temperament like?  When I hear "pet" it sounds like the dog is only good for being a house/yard dog with little purpose in life other than being a  friend/pet.  To often this term is used for a dog that is not going to be a Schutzhund dog or a show dog, when infact the dog may be used for PP, guarding ones home live stock etc. I say this to say that if you work this dog in any area of work (usefulness to man) than he is far more than a "pet" IMO.  I would encourage you to do all you can do with this little guy so that he can fulfill his genetic heritage.
