 Hi all,

I am working on a few changes, (none drastic).

First,  I want to simplify the menus on the left hand side.  Alot of newcomers find them "too loud" or "illogical"  :)

Next I will be adding a vertical for the whole website (as an addon)   and by vertical I mean:

Today the site is Breed oriented (as is fitting for specific breed lovers or breeders).   I have all the data to make a country/ city vertical..

So By vertical I mean I can create sections that are country oriented, with their own messageboard,.  Breeders are country registered and classifieds are country registered.  So I can make a kind of a subsection for each country.  and of course allowing any language per country.  Meaning that if you would enter the German section,  you would get listing for German based breeders, german classifieds (for all breeds) and a messageboard for Germany,   This would also be a great place to add registering of show information and upcoming shows.

I think this could draw alot of non-professionals which would benefit all the breeders on  this site.

I'd give a lot to possess a teensy-weensy fraction of your tech knowledge Oli. Thanks again.

Oli,

I am a techno-idiot, so it is all Greek to me!!    You have provided us with such a great site,  I am sure whatever changes you make will be wonderful, too.   Thank you for providing this site.  The pedigree information and functions are invaluable.

Many thanks!

is it possible to purge the upcoming events section of all the greek new website announcements?

New comers find them loud and or illogical???      I don't see it.
The breed specific orientation keeps things simple, yet for classifieds, sections for each country would be a plus.
Multiple message boards per country seems divissive, I assume each would be language specific?
You could refine the PM messaging to allow quicker deletion of old messages by the individual.   Glitchs do pop up with the message board as it is now, mostly involving cut and paste options.
The social aspect of your site could be improved with a real time chat area but this too can be more trouble than its worth and create security issues.
I dunno, its your site but my rule is always simple is better.
The message board is as big as the actual database,  the data security has always been a problem.
Think about it anyway.

Moons.

More thoughts,
A back up system for pedigree data would come in handy when trying to restore tampered pedigrees.

More instructions for newcomers might help navigating the site and using options.

A comments section for breeders and kennels (feedback) might serve to guide novice buyers and promote better breeders and eliminate scams.

Personally, I find the site easy to navigate and the message board as good as any others I've visited.   Actually better.

The glitchs are minimal.

I like your site very much as it is now.   Improve what you will, but its pretty good already.

On another note, I hope your situation there is not too bad, haven't heard.    Ours here is only getting worst.

Moons.

P.S.
Have you ever considered marketing PDB T-shirts?
I'd buy one.

Oli, I am not in favour of splitting the message board by country, unless it's done by language. It's already very much dominated by posters from the United States, and I really appreciate the input and different viewpoints which come from other countries such as the U.K., and from English-speaking posters in Europe and Asia. (It's espcially nice to have a few German/German speaking posters to help with translations!)
