Actually, I had Ronaldo (aka "Fluffy") himself here for awhile last year for training. He is a truly exceptional dog. He has natural full, firm grips, strong, balanced drives with good aggression, a very willing and joyful worker, which he DOES pass on tohis offspring.. He is one of the few showline dogs I have worked who truly does GUARD the helper convincingly after the out.

He is a pleasure to live with ...except for tossing his feed dish around (he likes noise) and playing in his water bucket till its empty and he & everything around him is soaking wet. Ha ha ha. He's great with kids, not dog aggressive, affectionate and fun to be around, an excellent ambassador for the breed. I started two of his pups out in training last summer as well, so I can attest to the fact that he does pass his working ability and natural grips on to his progeny. They are a pleasure to train even for this old working dog fanatic. Its hard to say I actuallly trained them More like they hopped out of their mother housebroken, knowing what to do and in a hurry to get at it. All I had to do was hang on to the leash basically, but you can bet I'll claim credit when those two get their SchH 3 and FH2's.

Oh yeah. Randy is a nice guy too. :-) Honest and ethical breeder, knowledgable, available and helpful long after the sale of the dog/puppy. The only gripe I have with Randy is that he loves his dog so much he wouldn't give him to me to keep forever, dammit.

Unfortunately, when my hard disc burned up in December I lost ALL my wonderful photos of Fluffy and me, and his daughters, working and relaxing,  except this one  :-(

If you are that concerned about workability, I would request video of the female working and ideally meet her in person, since she will be the one doing the imprinting on the litter. It takes two to produce a sound and stable working prospect.  And of course, go over the breeder's contract, if for some reason the pup does not turn out as you hoped for as far as hips, health, and testicles. Also, ask  to personally contact people who have pups from previous litters, to see how happy they are with their pups. All you have to do is go through posts on this board to see how valuable doing your homework is.
Good luck!!!

I like Ronaldo a lot and was very close to breeding my showline bitch to him a few years back.  He has very nice working drives and is showline dog that while social also exudes a nice strong, confident, dominant personality I see much more frequently in the nice working line studs.  His work is very nice, he is one of the few showline males I consider the “real deal” in protection (i.e. it doesn’t matter the color of his coat his work is exactly what you want in a protection) and I've seen videos of several pups who exhibit very nice prey drive.    I also like Randy a lot (very nice, helpful guy who LOVES to tlak dogs) and agree with everything SS had to say about both.  I can say that if I were breeding a litter of showline dogs that I wanted to produce working conformation pups from, Ronaldo is the not only the first, but probably the only showline stud I’d be thinking of.

Hope this helps,

-Calvin

Shelley and Randy dealt very profesionally and fairly with me and were very helpful. Shelley took great care of my bitch. I am only sorry my girl did not take, she is a tricky one, not the first miss I've had with her so no fault at all of Ronaldo. I would've loved a pup to keep for myself.

Xbox is owned by Philip Eramo (I think that's his name) of Dei Precision - www.precisionshepherds.com
Not much about him on the website, there are a couple of photos of his pups.... if you want to know why Michele O'Connell selected him as a stud, I would ask her - I know of someone who purchased a puppy from her some years ago: she had a lot of questions and concerns, and they were always addressed in prompt and courteous fashion. I'm a fan of Kirschental dogs, always have been - I don't think you could go wrong with a puppy from this kennel.....
