How many breeders spoon feed there 3 to 5 week old puppies to get them to there maximum size. Is this really necessary.
I did spoon feed them initially for a few days until they got the idea of semi solid food but didnt follow thru as they started eating by themselves.
An experienced breeder said that they were good but lack size and that her pups were bigger at the same age (34 days). But then again she never had 12 little mouths to feed plus she is experienced. this is my first litter.

Make some mush, put infront of the puppies. If they don't eat, they are retarded and should have their necks snapped.

I have made a gruel of canned food and goats milk and let them lick it off my fingers rather than spoon feed. They learn to gooble it up pretty fast.
