I know this schedule is not ideal...but please tell me how bad it is for my 9wk old boy.
6:30 am - Bathroom Break
6:35 am - Meal 1
6:50 am - Bathroom Break
7:15 am - Gated off in 4X8 Kitchen area
1:45 pm - Bathroom Break
1:55 pm - Meal 2
2:10 pm - Bathroom Break
4:00 pm - Crate (this may or may not happen depending on the day)
5:30 pm - Bathroom Break
6:30 pm - Meal 3
6:45 pm - Bathroom Break
8:45 pm - Bathroom Break
10:00 pm - Bathroom Break
10:05 pm - Crate

He has to be gated off in the morning because we work during the day....my wife gets home around 1:45pm...He is not gated off on the weekends because we are home...

If your puppy is not haviing accidents in the house, and is learning to hold his bladder, then your schedule is perfect. Good luck with him!!

Are you getting up to let him out at night or is he sleeping through the night already? It looks like the morning time between 7 and 1:45 might be a little long. The first couple of weeks are tough with a young puppy because they usually have to go every 2 to 3 hours. After 10 weeks they can hold it longer. If he's getting the idea and has the occassional accident, don't worry about it too much. 9 weeks is very young still. He won't be reliably housebroken and sleeping through the night until 11 or 12 weeks if he's in the normal range and if you are following your schedule accurately.

He has slept through the night since day 2 and we have had him 7 days...he's REALLY good about that.  He had one accident Sunday morning and that was my fault....and he had an accident this morning which confuses me.  We took him out before he ate...and within 1 1/2 minutes after eating he pooped on the floor....very rare for him to do.  The only other issue...is the fact that he has to be locked up from 7:15 to 1:45pm because of our jobs...while he is in the 4X8 gated area in the kitchen he pees about 2 times and poops once.

Is this schedule okay though....I received alot of negative feedback concerning how long he is locked in the kitchen in the morning...we really can't help it but I feel kind of guilty now...

Sounds good to me.  Our new pup has been with us almost a week now.  We both work and are gone from this house during the day for about 9 and a half hours.  I have 4 dogs.  One has run of the house because she never does anything wrong and we can trust her.  The GSD's though are crated.  The new pup is in a 4 x 5 foot play pen type structure and has his little crate in there and he goes in it to sleep as the door is always open on it.  There is a tarp under the entire thing and he has a pee pad in there that is replaced at night and then in the morning.  His food, water and toys are in there for him so he will never get bored.  The crates are next to him so they can talk to each other and be near one another.  He sleeps through the night now and it let out at 5 am when hubby gets up and then let out again when I get up at 6:10.  Back in his pen he goes from 6:30 to 4:15 when I get home.  All of the dogs are doing just fine.  You have to do what you have to do.  Think of it that way and you'll be fine.
