THANK YOU very much for all the support and great ideas to keep me busy. WAITING is horrible... especially when I know where the dog is. She has threatened physical harm if I tresspass. The police are not helping in that county, so I had to look to other ways to make her pressured and nervous. I am working in conjunction with the authorities (state police) and the owner of the POM that was stolen... they have somewhat hooked the cases together so I think that is good... She feels double pressure because she knows she is being prosecuted for the POM incident... I hope that works in my favor...
She does keep calling here... Threatening all sorts of stuff... I am documenting all of these calls with time etc... She told me that she turned the letter I wrote to her in regards to payment or return of the dog in to the police.... (laughing) OK.... It would only serve to work against her... but some people.
Hanging in there

This morning the Tuscola County Animal Control and the Sanilac County Animal Control are coordinating efforts because of the pom person's (ginger) case and mine to investigate the premisises... They are requesting paperwork on all the dogs that are present and specifically looking for mine. I am not sure when today or tomorrow but this is all good... the harasing is paying off on both ginger and my part... My husband is out posting more fliers. I will let you all know the details as they become available...

"OK... Lisa has now reported to the police that I stole the dog from her? Hmmm?? Is that possible?"
Well, it's possible she'll do anything, so yes. ;-)
You said that the dog is registered in your name so you are indeed the legal owner.
Once you get this resolved, though, you might want to contact AKC and tell them your story. I thought I read somewhere that AKC is considering letting people who don't have papers on a dog, get registration papers. Your case is a perfect example of why that is a bad idea. Otherwise what's to prevent her from writing to AKC and saying that it's her dog and getting them to issue papers in her name?
Don't want to turn this thread into an AKC issues thread, but it did occur to me. For now, I think you're fine - you legally own the dog.
How did she get it anyway? Did she really steal it from somebody's yard? Did the someone who bought it from you sell it to her without paying you?
