I'm looking for some ideas on what to lay inside crate. I can't use blankets/towels because I've found that she eats them. I'd like something to help keep her warm at the airport and going to and from...any ideas would be appreciated!

newspaper is very warm if you layer it well. Find a piece of cardboard the exact size of the crate bottom and wrap tons of layers of newspaper around it. Then shred newspaper over the top. It will make a nice warm nest.
Hope that helps,

I use about half a roll of paper towels. Not as messy as newspapers, safer if eaten and very absorbent and warm.

I have used towels or blankets, and I just put a toy in there with a bully stick or pig ear to keep them busy on that instead of the towel or blanket. It's worked well for me so far.

We use office paper shreds. Most offices just throw them away and would be glad to let you have them. Blankets and towles can impact your dog so dont take the chance.

I used the paper from shredders, too.  The airline LOVED it!! it is easy to get rid of, seems to have some insulation value, FREE and plentiful.   If nothing else, contact your local USA senator's office. That is where I first started getting mine.  They generate a couple of garbage bags full each day easily.    Otherwise, try any office.

NEVER PUT A TOY OR ANY FOOD IN DOG CRATE FOR FLYING....CHOKING MATERIAL

USE ONLY PAPER PRODUCTS....CHOCKING ON A BLANKET PIECE...DOG IS NERVOUS AND MAY CHEW LARGE PIECE OF ANY TOY OR FOOD OR BONE OR EAR. OR BLANKET .

DOG WILL BE FINE...RATHER HAVE A LIVE DOG THAN A CHOCKED DOG.

I've pulled too many towels etc out of the rear of dogs because they've eaten them. Thank goodness it came out!!

Thanks for the great ideas!

I guess my pups are use to laying on towels and blankets in their crates without chewing on them. I've never had an issue with it, or sending them out with a bully stick/pig ear. Shredded newspaper would obviously work as well. I've had pups shipped to me 1 in a blanket from Kraftwerk and one with shredded newspaper from someone else. Which ever works best for everyone and the pup.
