yep,  showlines are getting bigger.  my boy was 30.5 inches at the withers at 12 months old.  I placed him into a pet home as I don't want that size.
should the standard be changed to allow bigger dogs?  or should breeders try to breed dogs within the standard? big dogs don't hold up to working as well as a correct sized dog.  you don't want a 110+ lb SAR dog or police K9.  an 80-85 lb dog is much better suited. handlers should be able to pick their dogs up if need be.

I don't believe that we should change the standard, if we do what happens 10 years from now, will we have to make further ajustments to the standard again for something else that has become ingrained within the breed ?

We will just have to work harder at keeping the size down, yes I own a very large bitch, she has had 1 litter of 7 puppies of which only 1 is over sized, It just means lots of researching for a dog with the correct pedigree to help with correction of size.
